Kyle Arryn is a knight of House Arryn and the secondborn son of Lord Osric Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie. Born in the year 362 AC to Lord Osric and his second wife, Lady Anya Royce, Kyle is considered the true heir to the Vale, though his elder half-brother Harrold holds the title proper.

Appearance

Kyle is of a good height and a better build. He did not inherit the blonde hair and blue eyes of his father, but the brown hair and brown eyes of his mother. He wears his hair short, and has a small amount of stubble.

History

After the death of Lady Jeyne Melcom in 360 AC, Lord Osric Arryn sought a new wife, eventually settling on the young Anya Royce. They were wed in 362 AC, and Kyle was born shortly thereafter.

Ever since, Kyle has been groomed into a fine young knight and lord. His half-brother Harrold is the current heir to the Vale, but is a recluse, one many see would be unfit to succeed his father, so much so that many think Kyle to be the true heir.

When he was only sixteen, Kyle participated in his first ever tourney. Unseating his opponent in only two tilts, the knight reacted furiously, bearing down on the young lordling whom had no experience in such a situation.

Instead of acting brashly, Kyle shocked the crowd by diffusing the situation with simple kindness. Ever since, some in the Vale have called him 'Kyle the Kind.' He was knighted shortly afterwards, still only sixteen.

Recent Events

With the conclusion of winter, Lord Osric returned to the Eyrie, having spent the season in the Gates of the Moon, as is custom. However, Kyle and his siblings Jeyne and Jon elected to remain at the Gates a while, with their uncle.

When news of the Tourney at Oldtown reached them, Oswin allowed his nephews, niece and two bastards to depart in secret for the southern city, knowing his lord-brother would likely refuse the invitation. Kyle, as the eldest Arryn, was placed in official charge, though in reality he was commanded to listen to his older cousin, Denys.
